Biography

Sara Wikler is a Script-doctor-script Editor working in the movie industry, mainly in Paris (France) and Brussels (Belgium). She is also tutoring professional classes about screen-writing in "La Femis" and Cannes University (master degree).

She studied Literature and Movies in Brussel's University (ULB) then moved to Paris to finish her studies in Paris 3 University. She wrote 2 dissertations about screenwriting ("The poetry in movies written by Jacques Prevert" and "A genetic approach of screenwriting for 'Mr Lange's Crime' from Renoir and Prevert).

She began her carrier as a script-reader for several TV Channel's Movie departments (Canal+, ARTE, TF1). She entered Canal+ TV Channel and has contributed to prebuy rights of French-speaking feature films (for the broadcasting) as an acquisition manager (from 1998 to 2016) . She moved to Studiocanal to contribute to the development of feature scripts for the French production department (2016- 2018). After being invited ,(by la Sodec) to participate as a mentor at the 2018 Grand Nord Residency in Quebec and to give her first Master Class on screenwriting (Montréal Cinémathèque), she began to develop her own methods to help screenwriters and producers in their feature films developments. She had the opportunity to share her technics, mainly based on her knowledge in narratology, with UCLA's teacher during the FilmUnlimited Residency in Cannes (2019 - 2020) and with the Groupe Ouest workshop's mentors. She decided to begin a new professional life as an independent script-doctor and script editor meanwhile she entered Blue Spirit Studio to develop animation features films as an artistic producer. She left this production company in 2023 to devote herself 100% to her writing support role.
