Biography

Claus von Bülow was born on August 11, 1926 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was married to Martha Sunny von Bulow. He died on May 25, 2019 in London, England, UK.

Was tried and found guilty of two counts of attempted murder of his wife Sunny [Martha Sunny von Bulow] via insulin injections. The alleged second attempt put her in an irreversible coma on December 21, 1980. On April 27, 1984, the Rhode Island State Supreme Court reversed the convictions and ordered a new trial based on evidence presented by von Bülow's attorney, Alan Dershowitz. On June 10, 1985, a jury acquitted von Bülow of all charges. He has lived in England since 1987.

Related through his mother to the German von Bülows, the patrons of Richard Wagner. His father, playwright Svend Borberg, was a Nazi sympathizer who was later convicted of collaboration after World War II.
