Trivia

  • His lyrics for "Rapper's Delight" were actually written by Grandmaster Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers, a group Hank managed. He asked to use Caz's lyrics with the promise that he would help the Cold Crush Brothers get a record deal. But the record deal never materialized. Caz never recieved any credit or compensation for writing "Rapper's Delight".
  • Member of Sugarhill Gang who released the very first hip-hop record "Rapper's Delight". The song became a worldwide hit in 1979.
