- As a kid, friends would nickname the Intercontinental Champion 'Silverback', due to his muscular frame resembling that of a gorilla. He combined that with part of his real name - Ryan Reeves - to create the intimidating moniker we all know today.
- Reeves was forced to take a long break to undergo several ankle surgeries. He returned as Ryback in 2012, and embarked upon a 38-match unbeaten streak.
- Upon joining FCW in late 2008, Ryback formed a formidable tag team with future WWE Champion Sheamus.
