Biography

Los Angeles based English musician and sound designer, Julian Beeston, began his career as a drummer with the influential electronic group Nitzer Ebb. Achieving cult status in their own right, they also toured extensively with Depeche Mode, Jesus and Mary Chain and Sisters of Mercy where he gained invaluable experience not only on stage but also in his second home, the studio, where he learned what all the fancy equipment did.

Moving on, he found a niche producing and remixing alongside production luminaries Flood, Giorgio Moroder, Keith Forsey, John Fryer, William Orbit and Martin Atkins with whom he worked on an array of mainstream and not so mainstream artists' work. Credits include Billy Idol, Donna Summer and Bob Marley as well as more left field, edgy material with acts like KMFDM, Gravity Kills and Die Krupps to name but a few.

Always flirting with new aspects of sound, he is perhaps now as much a 'music designer' as a composer and his eclectic works have found their way on to recent Hollywood movies and blockbusting video games being used in soundtracks and trailers. His impressive repertoire has also seen placements on numerous TV shows both in the US and abroad.

Embracing sound design, audio-post production, location sound and ADR into his skill set, he has built a reputation for professionalism and quality, working within the video game and film industries with companies such as CapCom, Sony, EA, Disney and Warner Bros.
