- Mina Laamo is a director, screenwriter and producer working with creative documentaries and media art. She is an environmentalist and an entrepreneur.
She graduated from the Aalto University majoring in Documentary Film in 2015. Before she obtained another Master of Arts degree majoring in Comparative Literature and Gender Studies from the University of Helsinki. In addition to working as a Screenwriter and Director in documentaries and media art, she works as a Producer, since 2017 at the production company of her own: Koko Production.
Sorrow Tamers (2022, 66'), Mina Laamo's feature documentary, had an international premier at Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in 2022. Modern Times Review called the film "a magnificent and outstanding hybrid of documentary and artwork". Becoming Me (2015, 75'/52') was screened in Europe by ARTE. Her media art installation Four Trick Pony, premiered at the Turku Art Museum in 2020-2021. At the moment, she is in the development process of a documentary film entitled A Nature Documentary on Dying Birds.
