Lara Bampfield
Lara Bampfield is an Ancient Near Eastern archaeologist and Assyriologist specialising in Mesopotamian material culture and digital humanities. She completed her DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford, where her research focused on the documentation and analysis of cylinder seals using advanced imaging and computational methods.
Alongside her academic work, she has contributed to public engagement and educational projects. She is a contributor to the HarperCollins children’s book More Incredible Questions - What Came First?, helping to communicate complex historical topics to a wider audience.
Bampfield has also appeared as an on-screen contributor in a number of documentary productions. Her work has featured on the Discovery Channel in Nimrud: Secrets Revealed and Lost World of Sumerian Kings, and on National Geographic in Lost Treasures of the Bible and Lost Cities of the Bible, where she provides expert insight into the archaeology and history of the ancient Near East.
