Ece Turkmut Dere (she/her) is a SAG-AFTRA Accredited Certified Intimacy Coordinator with IDC Professionals and the first Turkish-speaking IC certified under SAG-AFTRA standards.
She holds a BA and MA in Dramaturgy and Performing Arts and brings a unique blend of dance, theatrical movement, dramaturgy and trauma-informed expertise to intimacy coordination. Ece creates deeply informed, emotionally safe, and consent-based working environments for actors and productions across film, television, and theater.
Based in the United States and working internationally, she bridges global industry standards with culturally attuned approaches, focusing on Turkey and Europe. She has pioneered intimacy coordination on films and television series for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max in Turkiye. With over 20 years of experience in movement, dance, theater, dramaturgy, and film, Ece integrates performance insight and trauma-informed practice to guide actors and directors through complex, high-contact scenes with sensitivity and precision. Bilingual in English and Turkish, Ece also volunteers with the Actors’ Union of Turkey, advancing field-wide intimacy coordination strategies and advocacy for safer, ethical performance practices.
