Rachel Thomas

Mini bio

  • Rachel Thomas is an actress, First Assistant Director, and educator based in Temple, Texas. Her recent performance work includes Kids at Bristol, where she portrayed Mary Mueller on September 7, 2025, with Shining Light, a Christian theater ministry. She also served as First Assistant Director for A Charlie Brown Christmas on December 14, 2025. Both productions include IMDb credits.

Rachel's interest in performance began at an early age through professional children's choir, dance, drama, and musical theater. During high school, she acted in several productions including Clue, Li'l Abner, and Once Upon a Mattress, as well as multiple church musicals and a French presentation featuring the cancan. She continued her performance training at the college level, including dance classes at Eastern Illinois University and at National University of Costa Rica in Heredia where she learned Latin Dance during a university study-abroad program in Costa Rica.

Rachel holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication with minors in Public Relations and Business from Eastern Illinois University and a master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Both degrees involved extensive public speaking before classmates, professors, and professional audiences.

Her professional career has further developed her communication and performance skills through work in student recruitment, international university recruitment, home sales, flooring sales in Chicago and Georgia, and education administration. While working in education administration at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, Texas, she presented to large groups, including battalion audiences of more than 500 soldiers.

Rachel has extensive vocal performance experience as well. She has served as a weekly worship leader before congregations of 200 or more and has performed Christian worship music as the lead singer of a three-person band for community events and worship gatherings.

Her background also includes competitive dance and pom. In 1998, her pom/dance team won the state championship and went on to compete nationally at Walt Disney World, performing at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Stadium. The performance was filmed and later broadcast on ESPN.

Outside of performance, Rachel teaches children ages 6 through 11 through a classical Christian education organization. She is also a member of a non-denominational Bible church.

An international traveler, Rachel has visited more than 21 countries for personal travel, study abroad, and university recruitment. Her travels have included the Middle East, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Qatar; Asia, including Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and China; and numerous countries throughout Europe, North, Central, and South America.

Rachel brings a diverse combination of performance, directing, vocal, communication, educational, and leadership experience to her work, with a particular interest in meaningful storytelling for theater and film.
