Ryne Duren was born on February 22, 1929 in Cazenovia, Wisconsin, USA. He died on January 6, 2011 in Lake Wales, Florida, USA.

Pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles (1954), Kansas City Athletics (1957), New York Yankees (1958-1961), Los Angeles Angels (1961-1962), Philadelphia Phillies (1963-1965), Cincinnati Reds (1964) and Washington Senators (1965).

Member of 1958 and 1961 World Series Champion New York Yankees teams. Member of 1960 American League Champion New York Yankees team.

Named to 3 American League All Star Teams (1958-1959 and 1961).

He is survived by his stepson, Mark Jackson.

Made major league debut on 25 September 1954.
