- Sam Godinez was born in Sherman Oaks, California. A multifaceted performer, he is known for his versatility and compelling presence on both stage and screen. With extensive training in musical theatre, commercial acting, and intensive scene study, Sam has established himself as a dynamic and dedicated talent.
He gained early recognition as an award-winning graduate of Notre Dame High School for musical theatre and went on to study at Santa Monica College, home to one of the most respected musical theatre programs in the region. There, he landed the role of Jack in "Into the Woods", earning a Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Award nomination for his performance.
In 2018, with just $500 and a dream, Sam relocated from Los Angeles to Chicago to pursue a career in professional theatre. He quickly made his mark, performing in productions across the city-including a regional tour as Bob Gaudio in "Jersey Boys". While in Chicago, he trained at Second City, where he honed his comedic timing and improv skills. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Sam was a top contender for the role of Johnny Cade in the original musical production of "The Outsiders" that had a planned premier at the Goodman Theatre. Unfortunately, the production was canceled, and he returned to Los Angeles to be with family.
Since then, Sam has shifted his focus to on-camera work, landing commercial campaigns with major brands such as Hyundai and Turtle Beach, as well as supporting roles in vertical short-form content for platforms like ReelShort and DramaBox. His career continues to be driven by a deep commitment to artistic excellence and a passion for creating authentic, impactful performances.
