She died on June 3, 2025 in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland.

- Spent 17 years on death row, five of them in solitary confinement, during which time her two children were estranged, her parents died, and her beloved partner, Jesse Tafero, was executed in 1990.
- In 1976, she and her boyfriend Jesse Tafero were wrongfully sentenced to death in Florida for the murder of two police officers, based on the false testimony of the man who had actually committed the murders.
- Wrote love letters to Tafero almost daily for 14 years until his execution.
- In 1981, her sentence was reduced to life, and in 1992, she was finally released.
- Her parents, Herb and Belle Jacobs, were killed in the crash of Pan Am Flight 759, which crashed in Kenner, Louisiana shortly after takeoff from New Orleans.
