Samuel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the only son of Dr. Mark Mann and Heather Mann. The family moved to Louisville, Kentucky, when Sam was just six years old. He focused on Visual Design while attending Bullitt East High School and, upon graduation, attended Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana, where he studied Television and Film Production. His college work earned him a regional Addy award for Production Design and his first Emmy nomination for Production.
