Biography

Luigi Scarcelli is an American filmmaker, producer, and television host based in Portland, Maine. He is recognized for directing and producing independent films and television projects, including The Lower Circle (2009), A Downeast Christmas (2022), and The TV Set (2025). His directorial work also encompasses the TV movie The Doctor Is In (2025) and the short film Cowboys and Indians (2003).

In addition to his behind-the-camera endeavors, Scarcelli is the creator and host of Friday PM, a late-night talk show produced by the Portland Media Center. Since its inception in 2021, the show has served as a platform for local arts, music, comedy, and community storytelling. Scarcelli's hosting style combines humor and sincerity, drawing inspiration from classic late-night formats while infusing a distinct Portland flair. Notable guests have included musicians like Jacob McCurdy, writer Chris Busby, and pageant organizer Brenda Pollock. The show also highlights local events, such as the America Miss Pageant and the Portland New Year's Live special, which Scarcelli co-hosted.
