Reem Alghazzi is a Syrian filmmaker, editor, writer, and producer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shaped by Syria’s socio-political realities, her work explores memory, exile, and resistance, centering marginalized voices and personal histories. Her films have screened internationally. In 2010, she founded Stories Film Lab in Damascus to support independent storytelling. In 2023, she received the Samira Al-Khalil Prize in Paris. Alghazzi has been awarded fellowships from Carnegie Mellon University, Artists at Risk, and the Artist Protection Fund, and continues to develop documentary and narrative projects across borders.
