Biography

Remo Vinzens is a Swiss actor and producer whose work spans film, television and theatre across Europe and the United States.

He began his acting training at the age of 20 in Cologne and Zurich, where he developed his craft across a wide range of acting techniques. His early work included performances in Bertolt Brecht's Señora Carrar's Rifles, as well as appearances in television commercials and short films.

Vinzens refined his on-camera work through his collaboration with Oscar-nominated actor Klaus Maria Brandauer and became a member of the Brandauer Ingenuus Ensemble.

In 2005, Vinzens joined Talent Management Star Class and founded the independent theatre company Star Class Theatre Productions. He is a member of the Swiss Stage Artists Association, affiliated with the International Federation of Actors (FIA).

His work includes the independent feature film Pentagramm (2005) and the audio drama Integration (2002), in which he performed multiple Swiss dialects. He later co-produced and starred in Arthur Miller's «Death of a Salesman», where his portrayal of Happy Loman attracted attention within the Hollywood film industry.

Under Star Class Theatre Productions, he also produced and performed in his own stage productions, including The Inmate and An Evening With....

In 2008, Vinzens entered negotiations for the role of the Camerlengo in Ron Howard's film Angels & Demons (2009). The following year, Clint Eastwood expressed interest in him for the role of François Pienaar in Invictus (2009), ultimately portrayed by Matt Damon.

In 2012, Vinzens co-founded the Swiss Acting Institute in Zurich, where he trains actors for professional stage and screen work. Productions under his artistic direction include Shakespeare's Best (2010) and Chekhov's Ivanov. His portrayal of Edmund Tyrone in Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night drew the attention of Steven Spielberg following a recorded performance. During the early development of Lincoln (2012), Steven Spielberg again expressed interest in his work.

He later appeared in Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie and performed literary readings including Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. He also appeared in the feature film Free Trip to Egypt (2019), which screened in New York.

Later stage work includes The Government Inspector, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar and Frank and Sam. Upcoming projects include The Curse of the Silver Chain, in which he is attached to a leading role, as well as Michelangelo: The Early Life and Breakdown.

Vinzens initiated the Open Acting Studio Days, an ongoing multi-day event bringing together actors and industry professionals, where he also appears as a performer (Open Acting Studio Days 2024 (2024)). A second edition is planned for 2026 (Open Acting Studio Days Part: 2).

Alongside his acting career, Vinzens develops and produces independent film and theatre projects. He serves as Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Swiss Acting Institute and as Artistic Director of Independent Theatre Productions, with work spanning Europe and the United States.
