Lee Kim is an independent film producer recognized for championing ambitious, filmmaker-driven genre cinema. Through his production banner, Resolute Films and Entertainment, he has successfully built a diverse slate of internationally distributed features, establishing a reputation for nurturing close creative collaborations and navigating complex international co-productions.
Before transitioning to a full-time career in filmmaking, Kim established a strong professional foundation in the corporate sector, working in investment banking. This unique financial background paved the way for his entry into the independent film landscape, kicking off with the drama This Beautiful City (2007), which earned four Genie Award nominations. He quickly pivoted into high-concept genre films, notably producing Christopher MacBride's tense found-footage thriller The Conspiracy (2012) and Matt Johnson's acclaimed mockumentary Operation Avalanche (2016).
Kim has since solidified his status as a key producer in the modern independent sci-fi and thriller spaces. He continued his creative partnership with MacBride on the mind-bending mystery Flashback (2020), before producing Riley Stearns’ satirical sci-fi feature Dual (2022) starring Karen Gillan and Aaron Paul, which premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival. Bolstering his industry presence, Kim secured a major first-look production deal with XYZ Films to jointly produce international, diverse filmmaker-driven titles, continuing his run with projects like Nick Frost's horror-comedy Get Away (2024) and the thriller Over Your Dead Body (2026).
