Biography

Lubega Rajab is a young award-winning Ugandan filmmaker, actor, sound engineer(recordist and designer) , and writer with over a decade of professional experience in the film and television industry. Known for his versatility and dedication to powerful storytelling, Rajab has earned recognition both locally and internationally, including a prestigious award at the Uganda Film Festival (UFF).

He is celebrated for his work on acclaimed projects such as Bedroom Chains (2022), Makula (2024),the torture (2017)the thought-provoking short films The Test (2022), mind over matter 2025, and the popular series JDC (2021),Sanyu (2021)His contributions showcase his range across multiple disciplines in the industry.

With a passion for impactful narratives and technical excellence, Lubega Rajab continues to push creative boundaries, telling authentic African stories that resonate on a global scale.







Lubega Rajab is an award-winning Ugandan filmmaker, actor, sound engineer, and writer with a deeply rooted passion for the arts. Born on June 6, 2004, and raised in Mukono-Seeta by his parents Kasifa Gimono and Asadi Mukasa, Rajab's journey into storytelling began early in life, shaped by both talent and resilience.

He attended Mother Kevin Primary School, Future Diplomats Primary School, and later completed his primary education at Seed Times Primary School in Kenya. His secondary education took him through Swaffa Secondary School in Buddo and Ibun Hamis Islamic Secondary School, after which he earned a certificate in Auto Engineering (Auto Electricity/Wiring) from Buganda Royal Institute.

Though he was trained in engineering, Rajab's heart remained tethered to the arts. A former dancer with Kasa Entertainment Kids, his creative instincts led him into the film industry-first as an actor in productions such as Omulugube and Kumusanvu TV series, then gradually expanding his skills into writing, editing, sound recording, and sound design.

Determined to master the craft, he pursued short courses in filmmaking at St. Lawrence University, and media vision academy focusing on screenwriting, editing, and sound. His unwavering dedication eventually led him to fully transition from engineering to film-a bold move that marked the beginning of an impactful career.

Rajab is best known for his work on award-winning and critically acclaimed projects including Bedroom Chains (2022), Makula (2024), The Test (2022), JDC TV series (2021), Sanyu TV series, The Torture (2017), Kimote 2025 etc . His work continues to be recognized for its emotional depth, technical finesse, and commitment to authentic African storytelling.
