Eric Goins is an American actor, improviser, producer, educator, and union leader based in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of Emory University, Eric began his professional career in corporate marketing and communications before discovering improvisation, a creative pursuit that ultimately led to a successful career in film and television.
Known for portraying grounded, authentic characters with quiet authority, Eric has appeared in numerous television series including The Righteous Gemstones, Halt and Catch Fire as Larry, DC's Stargirl as The Gambler/Steven Sharpe, Will Trent, Cobra Kai, The Originals, Black Lightning, Army Wives, One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva, Meet the Browns, and Hulu's Murdaugh: Death in the Family. His feature film credits include The Accountant, Ride Along, Ride Along 2, Boss Level, Dirty Grandpa, The Watch, The Family That Preys, and numerous other studio productions.
Beyond acting, Eric spent more than two decades performing and teaching improvisation, including serving as Assistant Artistic Director of Whole World Improv Theatre in Atlanta. He has also written, produced, and directed content for television and digital media.
Eric serves as President of the SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local and has held numerous national leadership roles within the union, including service on the 2022-2025 Commercial Negotiating Committee, the 2023 TV/Theatrical/Streaming Negotiating Committee, Vice Chair of the National Strike Preparedness and Contract Communication Committee, Chair of the Geographic Disparity Task Force for the Committee of Locals, and multiple national committees focused on principal performers, self-taping, education, and member engagement.
