Biography

General Manager of V-Nova Studios, Gianluca blends technology and creative arts to pioneer the future of entertainment. Driven by a passion for storytelling and innovation, he founded V-Nova Studios to revolutionize cinema through V-Nova PresenZ - a cutting-edge volumetric format honored with three AIS Lumiere Awards - delivering immersive, cinematic experiences with six degrees of freedom.

Meardi made his producing debut with SharKarma: Guardian of the Oceans (2025), the world's first pre-rendered, cinematic-grade volumetric movie, allowing audiences to step fully inside the story. At the same time, he produced Weightless (2025), the immersive music experience featuring Arilena Ara and the first-ever XR release of a song by legendary Oscar-Grammy-Emmy winner Diane Warren, exclusively on the ImmersiX platform before its traditional distribution.

Before entering the entertainment industry, Meardi held leadership roles at PwC - where he founded the Digital Transformation practice and won the Global Innovation Challenge with historical votes record - and at IBM, leading the Strategy & Design platform and IBM Studios, earning multiple Creative Awards. He holds a Master's degree in Strategy and Innovation from Oxford's Saïd Business School, complementing his earlier degree in Engineering.

Gianluca collaborates with major Hollywood studios to bring top-tier CG animated features into the volumetric realm, developing a new 6DoF cinematic language (ImpactX), producing original showcase content, empowering filmmakers, and distributing immersive experiences worldwide through the ImmersiX platform.

In addition to his work at V-Nova Studios, Meardi advises media startups through Berkeley SkyDeck and founded Scuola++, a non-profit dedicated to merging art, science, and technology in education.
