Syed Saad Farrukh first approached Hassan to co-create
Chand Pe Charkha Kaat'ti Budhiya under the latter's 'Sifr Studios'. Hassan had earlier offered the protagonist's role to Saad in
Suni Sunai (2025) and even though the latter turned it down, the two remained in touch. Hassan liked the idea but he and his team were not in a position to make an independent film at that point and the opportunity was cordially passed. This surprisingly paved way for
Yaseen Khatri to step in and the film became his directorial debut.
