Biography

Rachel Walsh-Williams is a new name in screenwriting but has already won an impressive list of international awards for her screenplays Tokyo Ghost, Hear My Song, and L'Avocat. For example, Hear My Song won the British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) Award in 2024 for Best Live Script and Tokyo Ghost won Best TV Pilot at the LA Under The Stars Film Festival and LA Femme International Film Festival. L'Avocat and her new screenplay, Brighton Road, have made the British Independent Film Festival 2025 Gold List: 20 screenplays of outstanding quality up for special commendations and the title of Best Unproduced Screenplay on 29 March 2025 at the British Museum. She has adapted Tokyo Ghost into a TV series which is now being submitted and the feature screenplay of Hear My Song will shortly be available.

Rachel has an MA in Screenwriting from London Film School and is also a graduate of the University of Cambridge (MPhil Japanese Studies), University of Warwick (BA History of Art & Italian), SOAS University of London (MA Japanese Studies). She speaks Japanese, French and Italian.
