Sarah Congress

Sarah Congress is a comedic playwright, screenwriter and script doctor. Her satire "Big Yikes"! was read at UP Theatre this January, and her play "Fresh Kills" had a reading at the NYPL Lincoln Center. "Melting," her play about climate change, was produced at Siena College and was featured at the Tank Theatre's IHRF Festival. Sarah co-wrote the screenplay "I Can't Hear You," which won Best Comedy at the 2024 Jersey Shore Film Festival. Her ten-minute play "Overdose" earned second place at the 2023 Downtown Urban Arts Festival. Congress's play "Curfew" was selected as a semi-finalist and awarded a Vinnytsia Citation from the Festival Producer and Ukrainian Jurors for their project "Uncovered Scenes from Ukraine." She was a Playground-LA Writers pool member (2021) and HBMG National Winter Playwright's Retreat Selectee (2019).
