Biography

Rhys Coiro is an American actor known for his work across film, television, and stage. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has built a reputation for portraying complex characters in acclaimed dramas, studio films, and independent features.

Coiro's breakthrough role came as Billy Walsh on HBO's Entourage (2011), where his portrayal of the volatile independent filmmaker became one of the series' most memorable recurring performances. He has since appeared in a wide range of television dramas, including The Walking Dead, Dexter, Ray Donovan, Paradise City, Graceland, and A Million Little Things.

His feature film credits include Hustlers (2019), opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, and Keke Palmer; Straw Dogs (2011), starring James Marsden, Kate Bosworth, and Alexander Skarsgård; Finding Steve McQueen (2019), alongside Travis Fimmel, Forest Whitaker, and William Fichtner; Running on Empty (2024), and One Way (2022), featuring Kevin Bacon, Colson Baker, and Travis Fimmel.

In addition to his screen work, Coiro has maintained a strong connection to the theater. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, he began his professional career onstage in the American premiere of Conor McPherson's This Lime Tree Bower at Primary Stages under the direction of Harris Yulin. Shortly after, he made his Broadway debut in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of George S. Kaufman's Dinner at Eight, directed by Gerald Gutierrez. Later on he starred opposite Jason Biggs and Peter Scanavino in Michael Greif's acclaimed revival of Howard Korder's Boys' Life at Second Stage Theater, marking the company's 30th anniversary season. He returned to Lincoln Center theater in 2023 originating his role in Keith Bunin‘s The Coast Starlight directed by Tyne Rafaeli.

Coiro is married to director Kat Coiro, and together they have three children in Los Angeles, California.
