Ngwedi Ramphele

Ngwedi is a colourful creative, with a gentle spirit, hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2022, she graduated as a full time student from the Market Theatre Laboratory, with a skill set of Theatre Making and Performance. In 2023 formed one of five members of an esteemed Theatre Company called Kwasha, which sharpened her skill in devising work as well as her collaborative approach in crafting.
She has worked under the company Story and Breath, headed by Baeletsi Tsatsi, as a Traditional and Autobiographical storyteller. In addition, she has also collaborated with a pioneering Children’s Museum called PlayAfrica. With this background, she has developed a skill in facilitating drama for young creatives at PhandiCraft as well as BuzzKidz.
She is also a physical theatre practitioner and uses her body as a vessel to emote and bring stories to life. This translates best with her engagements in Children’s Theatre as well.
Furthermore, her experience in performance has moulded a voice that is a tool of expression in many different forms, with experience in radio plays, radio commercials and edutainment voice over projects .
Her work is threaded with a curiosity that reaches far beyond the script, a playfulness that seeks for connection and a desire to find meaning in the world surrounding her.
