Maya Cameron(II)

Maya Cameron is a writer and director from San Francisco whose work blends authenticity, culture, and heart. She is the creator of The Mermaid Princesses, a children's book published by HarperCollins that celebrates Black girl joy and empowerment through a trio of magical mermaids. Maya holds an MFA in Film and has directed narrative and commercial work, including her debut short film What'chu Mixed With? - a coming-of-age story based on her own experiences growing up biracial in the Bay Area. She is also the co-founder of the popular vegan restaurant Vegan Mob and is passionate about telling untold stories that center underrepresented voices. Her work often explores themes of identity, intergenerational healing, and transformation, blending personal truth with cinematic storytelling. She has been featured in press coverage by KQED and 48 Hills for her directorial debut.
