Began his career as a freelance radio scriptwriter in the early 1940s before joining the CBS radio writing staff in 1943. After a two-year stint in the Army that lasted from 1943 to 1945, he returned to radio writing, a number of his stories were adapted for early TV anthology shows in the 1950s.
