Sergio Lozano Fernandez is a sound designer who specializes in creating immersive audio experiences for visual media. Based in Vancouver, Canada, and Monterrey, Mexico, he combines technical precision with creative artistry to craft sonic landscapes that emotionally connect with audiences.
A graduate of Vancouver Film School's Sound Design for Visual Media program (2025) and holding a B.S. in Digital Music Production Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey (2022), Sergio has built a solid foundation in audio production. His educational background also includes a Japanese Language Proficiency program at Miyagi University of Education in Japan (2019-2020), reflecting his multicultural perspective and influence.
Sergio's professional experience spans various roles in audio production, including Location Sound Mixer, Boom Operator, Post Sound Designer, and Re-Recording Mixer for student and independent film productions. Additionally, he served as a Podcast Producer for "ClubJap Mty," where he scheduled, recorded, and edited audio content.
Technically proficient in industry-standard software including Pro Tools, Wwise, Unity, Unreal Engine, Pure Data, and Logic Pro, Sergio specializes in Foley and sound design, creating original sonic elements that enhance visual storytelling. His programming skills in C++ and C# further complement his technical capabilities in interactive audio.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese animation and visual storytelling, Sergio brings a unique cultural perspective to his work. His involvement with the Mexican Japanese Association of the Northeast as Secretary (2022-2024) has strengthened his multicultural collaboration and leadership skills.
Sergio's musical background as an Alto Saxophonist with Sonido Azul Marching Band and as a Violist with the Musical Capacitation Orchestra adds depth to his sonic sensibility. Fluent in Spanish and English, with intermediate Japanese and basic French proficiency, he is well-equipped for international collaborations.
