Tom Byrne got his start working for the Pat Sullivan Studio around the early/Mid 1920's. He got his start as an Ink and Paint Artist and later rose up to the rank of animator. Around 1930, He went over to Paul Terry's "Terrytoons" Studio and worked as an assistant animator, Sometime after that, He and his brother Charlie went over to L.A. To work for Walt Disney at his animation studio as assistant animators. Tom later went to the U.S. Film corps unit along with animators George Rufle and a hand full of others. After that, He later went back as an assistant animator over at Metro Goldwyn Mayer's In-House cartoon department. (Albeit Uncredited) and after working there, He relocated to the Walter Lantz Studio as an assistant animator Once again. Assisting for Veteran animator Virgil Ross and a lot of more veterans. He animated the Last Cartoon the Walter Lantz Studio ever produced, 1972's "Bye Bye Blackboard" and he presumably retired from the industry. as a Veteran animator
