Biography

Ben Lovett is an American composer and songwriter known for his original scores to Hulu's reimagining of Clive Barker's iconic Hellraiser (2022), Netflix's The Ritual (2017), and Searchlight Pictures' The Night House (2020) from director David Bruckner; Jim Cummings' tragicomedy The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020) from Orion Pictures; Emma Tammi's haunted western The Wind (2018); Amy Seimetz's critically acclaimed debut Sun Don't Shine (2012); Erin Derham's colorful nature documentary Stuffed (2019), and Jacob Gentry's sci-fi noir Synchronicity (2015) Synchronicity, which earned Lovett a nomination for "Discovery of the Year" at the prestigious World Soundtrack Awards.

Since scoring the Independent Spirit Award-nominated thriller The Signal (2007), which debuted at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, Lovett has provided scores for a variety of breakout films that include Jim Cummings' comedy The Beta Test (2021) starring Virginia Newcomb; Katie Aselton's survival thriller Black Rock (2012) starring Kate Bosworth and Lake Bell; the iHeart Media audio series Tomorrow's Monsters (2021) starring John Boyega; Jacob Gentry's retro conspiracy thriller Broadcast Signal Intrusion (2021) starring Harry Chum Jr.; and Christopher Alender's The Old Ways (2020) starring Brigitte Kali Canales and Andrea Cortés which reached #1 Worldwide on the Netflix horror chart in 2021. Ben's work for television includes music for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim; the Blumhouse anthology series, Into the Dark (2018); MTV's My Super Psycho Sweet 16 (2009) trilogy; and the award-winning ESPN documentary film series 30 for 30 (2009).
