- Gretchen Kaye is a Melbourne-based production designer and visual artist with work spanning across film, television and theatre. Her painting, The Secret, (oil on canvas) was selected by interior designer, Shaynna Blaze (The Block, Selling Houses Australia) for the Nine Network series, BUYING BLIND.
As production designer for the music theatre piece, TANGO'S VIOLIN (dir. Sophie Kesoglidis & Alan Becher, Perth Theatre Company), Gretchen designed the set and hand painted a 11 x 6m backdrop. The show toured nationally in venues including City Recital Hall Sydney.
Gretchen was production designer on the AACTA SONY Pitch Focus winning short film, LISTEN, (director, Sophie Kesoglidis) which premiered at the Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying festival, Flickerfest 2026.
Her paintings have been exhibited at Australian Galleries and her solo exhibition, The Portable Park, was opened by Tim Entwisle (Director, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria) at 45 Downstairs (Melbourne). Gretchen's paintings are part of collections internationally.
