Mike holds three high school track and field records for the shot put alongside former Clemson standout Derek Gilson.

Mike attended Rutgers University where he graduated with honors from the Rutgers School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies. There, he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and Bartender at Old Queens Tavern.

Mike's father, Michael Catapano, has been in a successful band called Chailo for the past 4 decades. They had several records produced and appeared on the Billboard 100 new artists list for their release of "Let's Skate." The song was recently featured on a disco compilation from the UK called "The Soul of Disco Volume 3".
