Matan Gutin was born in Haifa, Israel, and grew up in Nesher.
At 12, Matan moved to Calgary, Alberta and graduated from Henry Wisewood High School.
Originally planning to be a game designer, Matan changed paths and developed an interest in film. This led him to attend the Film and Video Production program at SAIT, where he would go on to write and direct many student films.
Matan plans on writing and directing many more projects in the future and helping to expand Calgary's film scene.
