- Filip Müller was born on January 3, 1922 in Sered, Czechoslovakia [now Slovakia]. He died on November 9, 2013 in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
- He lived in Mannheim, Germany, in the last decades of his life. Müller was the only survivor of the 'Sonderkommando' at the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, who lived in Germany. Historian Gideon Greif mentioned this in a public lecture in 2016.
