Devan Simmons

Devan Simmons is an African-American Actor & Music Supervisor born in West Virginia. While born in West Virginia, most of his childhood and teenage life was spent in Southern Maryland. From here, Devan lived a few years in Saint Augustine, Florida attending Flagler College where he studied International Relations and law. Devan later went on to graduate from West Virginia University and UCLA with a J.D. and LL.M., in Entertainment Law, more specifically: Contract law. Using his newfound skills and knowledge, Devan moved to Memphis where he has taken on acting, music, and legal roles for films, such as 5th Step (Short 2024) and The Coffee Shop (Short 2025). Using his legal know-how to help independent workers within the film and entertainment industry in general learn and know their rights and enter the workforce confidently, Devan has become an important part of the Independent film community.
