- Fernando Botero was born on April 19, 1932 in Medellin, Colombia. He was an actor, known for Mi pasión por David (2012), Akt utan ord II (1976) and Hägringen (1981). He was married to Sophia Vari, Cecilia Zambrano and Gloria Zea. He died on September 15, 2023 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

- In 1952, using his gallery earnings, Botero sailed to Europe. He arrived in Barcelona and then moved on to Madrid. In Madrid, Botero studied at the Academia de San Fernando and was a frequent visitor to the Prado Museum, where he copied works by Goya and Velázquez.
