Alexander Held is an award winning dynamic composer and music producer whose work seamlessly bridges the worlds of classical orchestration, contemporary experimental techniques, and cutting-edge electronic music. Originally from Munich, Germany, Alexander's passion for music ignited when he first picked up the guitar, quickly leading him to explore composition and the limitless possibilities of sound.
Having worked with international award winning Directors such as Varta Arutiunian (Ukraine), Dana Atrach (Qatar), Riccardo Tito Pescini (Italy), Kieran Andrino-Watkins (United Kingdom), Thomas Gronenberg (Germany) and Ryan Kay (Lebanon); showcasing a deep understanding of the cinematic language regardless the aesthetics and cultural backgrounds.
Alexander Helds Work has been shown internationally on numerous festivals such as Picture house Create (United Kingdom), Leira Film Festival (Portugal), BFI London Film Festival (United Kingdom), the Chagrin Doc Fest in Cleveland OH (United States)
as well as the Straight8 shootout which premiered a work in Cannes and the Prince Charles theater in London as well as the Mov'ilha screening in Portugal.
After studying Music Production in Germany, he honed his craft at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, followed by a Master's degree in Electronic Composition in Cologne. His works have been performed across the globe, from France and the Czech Republic to Germany and the U.S., including a standout performance at New York City's iconic Lincoln Center.
In 2023, Alexander moved to Los Angeles to collaborate with legendary composer Hans Zimmer at the world-renowned Remote Control Productions (RCP), solidifying his place in the world of film and media scoring. Now based in London, he continues to push the boundaries of composition, crafting immersive and emotionally compelling soundscapes that redefine modern music.
