Biography

Melcher Fabi was born in San Leandro, California, USA. He is a producer and production manager, known for The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) and Steve Jobs (2015).

National winner of the $50,000 MTV Fight For Your Rights Leadership Scholarship in 2001, the highest award chosen among 30,000 entries, honoring youth dedicated to civil rights and social justice, presented at NYC's Roxy Theater by Muhammad Ali and Sean Combs. The judges included the Anti-Defamation League, the Leadership Conference Education Fund, the Dave Matthews Band, Destiny's Child, Method Man, and Mena Suvari.

Alumni of University of California-Santa Barbara; Film Studies Dept, Class of 2002; Dean's List. Honored at graduation with The Jeremy D. Friedman Memorial Award presented in recognition of outstanding leadership, scholastic excellence, and innovative contribution to student and community life in memory of Jeremy D. Friedman, undergraduate 1979-1983.

Alumni of The American Film Institute Conservatory; Producing Program, Class of 2004. Along with his thesis team, was awarded a $15,000 production grant from The James Bridges/Jack Larson Foundation, in memory of writer/director James Bridges, that encourages excellence in theater & film.

Winner of the Media Action Network for Asian Americans' Scholarship in 2002 for advancing a positive and enlightened understanding of the Asian American experience in popular media.
