Biography

Marietou Dione is a versatile model and actress predominantly known as "The Black Swan" due to her beauty and elegance. She was born in Fatick, Senegal before moving with her family to Italy as a child.

The maverick artist studied fashion at the Caterina Caniana Institute of Higher Education in Bergamo. She was discovered by the manager and producer Nicola Paparusso and began her modeling career at a very young age.

Marietou walked the ramp for some of the top fashion brands in the most important catwalks in the world, posing for the most famous fashion photographers.

For the merits achieved for her activism against racism in fashion, in 2021, she was elected President of African Fashion Gate, the foundation that works to eliminate forms of discrimination and inequalities in the fashion system.

She was the protagonist of the famous short film "Racism is not in style" distributed by Rai Cinema and presented as a world premiere at the European Parliament on 20 February 2018.

The versatile artist was also the protagonist of the short film "No one excluded" also distributed by Rai Cinema. Marietou Dione has been married since 2018 to the producer and manager Nicola Paparusso.
