Michael Ray Russell is an independent filmmaker currently based Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and St. Louis, Missouri. He has experience in both the independent filmmaking and commercial spaces, contributing as a Grip, Gaffer, Sound Mixer, Writer, and Director.
Although he spent over a decade dedicated to music, Michael transitioned into the film industry in his late teens, working as a Grip on local projects before writing and directing Family Video in the spring of 2025, marking his debut as a filmmaker. Michael began studying at The University of Oklahoma Film & Media Studies program in August of 2024, with plans to graduate with a BA in 2027.
