- Member of the 1972 Olympic Men's basketball team that lost the gold-medal game to the Soviet Union. 5th overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 1974 draft. Won the NBA's first-ever Sixth Man Award. Played for Dean Smith at North Carolina.
- Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.
