Clayton Ritchie - Writer, Director, Editor, Horror Filmmaker
My name is Clayton, and I've been passionate about storytelling through film-especially
in the horror genre-since childhood. That passion began at age eight, when I watched
Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead (1981) for the first time. From that moment on, I was hooked on
the thrill, mystery, and creativity horror has to offer.
In 2024, I graduated with a Diploma in Screen and Media from TAFE Queensland. During
my time at TAFE, I wrote and directed two original short films. The first, Angels Among Us,
is a 3-minute silent psychological thriller about a lost girl, a stranger in the woods, and a
chilling twist. My second film, Playtime, is a 7-minute supernatural horror story inspired by
ghost-hunting videos. It follows two friends whose paranormal adventure spirals into a
terrifying fight for survival. I also appeared as an actor in The Coffee Film, a silent short
where visual storytelling took center stage.
Since completing my diploma, I've written fourteen short film scripts and expanded Playtime
into a feature-length project titled Viremor. I also directed Undying Love, a haunting
supernatural drama that explores a mother's desperate journey to reclaim her daughter
after a tragic event-only to discover the cost of eternal love may be her own humanity.
Beyond film, I've launched two YouTube channels:
. Script Read - where I narrate my short scripts with added sound design and music
to bring them to life.
. Haunted House Entertainment - a platform to showcase my writing, directing, and
finished films.
I'm in the final editing stages of a music video I directed titled The Preacher, released 2025.
Whether through short films, features, or new media, my goal is always the same: to create
stories that entertain, unsettle, and stay with the audience long after the credits roll.
