Biography

Peter Schaufuss was born on April 26, 1949 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is an actor, known for Natalya Makarova's Swan Lake (1988), Le ballerine (1985) and The Queen of British Ballet.

He was invited as the leading soloist to the National Ballet of Canada, then to the London Festival ballet, and in 1974 to New York City Ballet.

He choreographed his own interpretations of such ballets as Napoli, Sylphide, Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker.

While being at school he debuted in a Pas de deux in Don Quixote and in 1965 he officially joined the Royal Danish Ballet Company.

He formed his own company: Peter Schaufuss Ballet in Holstebro, Denmark.
