Biography

An Egyptian actress and ballet dancer of Armenian origin. She began studying ballet in Alexandria before the age of six, later becoming a teacher of the art. After World War II, she turned to belly dancing, incorporating ballet techniques into her style. Although she acted in several productions, she was best known as a distinguished dancer, appearing in many films. Coming from a conservative family, her father used to accompany her to filming locations. She married Shukri Sarhan, but their marriage lasted only two years.
