Biography

Winner of the Candango award for best production design at the Brasilia Film Festival for the film Piedade (2019), by Claudio Assis, Carla Sarmento has worked in the audiovisual industry since 1995. She has a degree in Design and a post-graduate degree in Cinema. Her first production design award at the Brasília Film Festival came with the short film That's a Lero-Lero (1994), directed by Lírio Ferreira and Amin Stepple. She was also awarded at Festcine for the production design of the film Orbitantes (2017), by Rodrigo Campos. In 2023, she signed the production design and set design for the series "Chabadabadá", directed by Tuca Siqueira and Julia Moraes and general directed by Claudio Assis; in 2022 she signed the production design of the feature film "Atmosfera", by Paulo Caldas and the 2nd season of the TV series "Lama dos Dias", by Hilton Lacerda. Among her production design works also the feature films "Acqua Movie", by Lírio Ferreira; "Sujeito Oculto", by Leo Falcão and the series "Caixas Mágicas", by Hilton Lacerda, Letícia Simões and Rodrigo Campos.
