Biography

Inaam Mohamed Ali is an Egyptian director who was born in Cairo, but spent her childhood in Minya. She earned a degree in Arts from Ain Shams University and a master's in Media from Cairo University in 1973. She trained at the BBC in London as well as in East Germany and Czechoslovakia. Upon returning to Egypt, she worked at Egyptian Television for over 30 years, rising through the ranks to become Head of Women's Programs and later Deputy Head of the Production Sector. She specialized in directing TV dramas such as Love and other things (1986), Conscience of Teacher Hikmat (1991), Om Kulthum (1999), Qasim Amin (2002), and Qessat Al Amss (2008), and also directed films such as Asefa Arfod Al-Talaq (1980), Hekayat Elghareeb (1992) and Al-Tareek Ela Eilat (1993). She received several awards for her work. She also received the Order of Sciences and Arts, First Class on Media Day in 1999 and the State Merit Award in Arts from the Supreme Council of Culture in 2003.
