Prashanth HS

Prashanth HS is an Indian writer, producer, and filmmaker who has made a name for himself in both the advertising and Kannada film industries. Born and raised in Bengaluru, he holds a postgraduate degree in economics from Bengaluru University. After working for several years at the renowned MICO Ltd, now known as Bosch Limited, Prashanth delved into the world of filmmaking, resigning from his corporate job to pursue his creative passions. He undertook a film directing course from the prestigious KANFIDA (Karnataka Film Directors Association) in 2010, marking the beginning of his illustrious career in the industry. Prashanth's first major project was working as an assistant director for Homable Films, the production company known for the acclaimed KGF and Kantara film series. He then had the opportunity to work closely with Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, serving as both an assistant director and associate director on several projects. Eager to expand his horizons, Prashanth later shifted his focus to the Telugu and Marathi film industries, honing his skills as an associate director for many years. Recognizing the importance of diversifying his talents, Prashanth transitioned into the advertising industry, joining the award-winning production house Nirvana as an assistant line producer for a Titan watch advertisement featuring Malayalam superstar Fahad Faasil and National Award winner Nithya Menon. His versatility and dedication led him to work on numerous other high-profile projects, serving as an assistant director, second assistant director, and first assistant director for brands such as Big Bazaar, Parachute Oil, RedBus, and Star Insurance, among others. The COVID-19 pandemic presented Prashanth with a unique opportunity to explore his directorial skills further. He began directing several advertisements and writing and producing over 50 documentaries. In a significant career move, Prashanth has now set his sights on the political arena, directing and writing campaign advertisements for the 2024 Karnataka Congress Member of Parliament election. Simultaneously, he is working on an independent feature film that will mark his debut as a director, showcasing his multifaceted talents and his unwavering commitment to the creative arts.
