As the grandchild of a founding member of the Schexnayder Family Association, Soleil carries a foundational River Road lineage that built massive raw sugar factories through the industrial company C. Schexnayder and Co. on the historic Augusta, Forest Home, and Dugas plantations. Feeding directly into this sugar empire, the family established the commercial heart of Vacherie, where their 1933 country grocery shack evolved into the legendary Schexnayder's Supermarket.
