Biography

Brian C. Sampson is an actor, stand-in and precision-driver from Northern California. He is known for his work on Nash Bridges, I Love You Man, The OA, The Matrix Reloaded and Etruscan Smile. Brian started acting at an early age, performing in plays as a child. He was fascinated by books about special-effects and cinematography. While other children played sports, he was busy building models, sets, props and costumes. With a Super 8mm film-camera he created animated shorts and special-effects for several award-winning video productions during Junior High School. At junior college he studied acting, and telecommunications while earning an Associate Arts degree in Language Arts from Butte College. Brian visited Los Angeles for a History of Film Summer Session at U.C.L.A. in 1990 and was hired as a stand-in for the film, The Howling VI. His next job in Hollywood was behind-the-scenes working as as a production assistant on the HBO movie The Water Engine. Returning to Northern California, Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English while refining his acting techniques, directing and stage-craft skills for his minor in Theater from California State University, Chico. During his final year at college he was hired by a local television station to operate a studio-camera for the news before being promoted to weekend- reporter. Determined to be a working member of the Screen Actor's Guild, Brian moved back to Los Angeles in 1996 and worked as a photographer at an extras casting company. He worked there for almost year before trying extra work as a means to earn his Screen Actor's Guild Membership. Brian joined S.A.G. in 1999 after being featured in a film, The Listener as well as several episodes of Pacific Blue and 90210.
