Amy Wadford is an award-nominated Makeup Department Head based in New York, working across network television, streaming series, and independent feature films. Her credits include The Blacklist, The American West, The Making of the Mob, and Patti Cake$, where she is recognized for simplified, character-driven makeup designs that enhance story, performance, and visual impact. Amy loves her work, and her passion is evident in every project she takes on. Amy began her journey on set as background talent on The Wire, Ladder 49, and John Water's, Cecil B. Demented. These experiences allowed her to connect with makeup artists, observe professional workflows, and gain first-hand insight into the collaborative dynamics of production, laying the foundation for her career as a department head. With more than 20 years of experience leading makeup departments for television and film, Amy brings a steady, production-minded presence to set. Her work bridges no-fuss, efficient makeup technique with execution that emphasizes continuity, character depth, and clear cross-department collaboration. She strives to stay one step ahead of production’s needs, anticipating challenges and streamlining workflows before they arise. Amy has been a member of IATSE Local 798 since 2012 and is a 2017 nominee for the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards, as well as a 2015 nominee for the Southampton International Film Festival for Achievement in Hair and Make-up.
